“The two production lines running at NEW represent an unprecedented opportunity for UK electronics professionals,” explains Project leader and IPC European Representative Lars Wallin. “Whereas it is not uncommon to see technologies in action individually, the opportunity to witness leading-edge technologies from a wide variety of suppliers working as part of a line is rare and not to be missed! I would encourage everyone attending NEW to come along and take a look at the lines in action – with the extensive range of process parameters on show, you are certain to find elements relevant to your business which you can also learn from to boost your ongoing productivity.”
Following production, all boards will be tested by sophisticated X-ray and AOI technologies to determine whether solder joints meet with industrial IPC standards. Results will be displayed on a large screen in a dynamic open forum environment where visitors are invited to listen to feedback and analysis from a panel featuring bare board suppliers, solder paste suppliers and independent experts.
